Players Who Need To Step Up For The Gin Kings

Who do you think the Gin Kings players that need to elevate their games to help the team capture the elusive championship? While the team is loaded of great players who can really play basketball, it is unfortunate that their talents are not exploited in the last conferences. What do you think the problem? Is it because of the players' lack of desire and motivation? Or is it because of the coaching staff?(again!)

For me, I have some names that must step up this coming PBA season, so they can finally achieve that elusive championship.

Here are the players that for me are capable of helping the team capture its first championship after their last one, which happened on the year of 2008. God, its been 4 years that we last saw our players celebrating at the  center of the court. Will it happen this year? Can the Gin Kings also make a run and make their own dynasty. How about a grand slam of their own?

Ok, let us get started...The players that must elevate their game in my own humble opinion are:

Allein Maliksi -- this player has the offensive skills that can make the opponents play honest defense. Look, this guy can shoot the 3, bring the ball closer to the rim and run the fast break.

Dylan Ababou -- remember when he made those 40+ points last PBA all star, this only show the offensive prowess of this player.

Kerby Raymundo -- we all know what the kid can do, he just need to be given the enough time to get back in his old form.

Rudy Hatfield -- although already past of his prime, the H-bomb is still capable of getting the rebounds and stop opponents to score. He can also move without the ball and produce points for the team.

Rico Maierhofer -- next to the H-bomb, this guy has the energy and hustle that every coach would like to have. He can score and run the fast breaks effectively. Remember, PRM is a rookie of the year awardee on his first year in Purefoods.

JJ Helterbrand -- the former MVP and the other half of the fast and the furious must get back on his killing form to resurrect the tandem of the deadliest back court of the PBA. MC47 will be happy to have his buddy elevate his game once more, since this will mean championship. JJ13, before you hang your jersey, show them you still got game. Will you?

There you are, my list of players who need to step up and bring their A1 game each night to give their team a solid chance to be crowned champions again. I did not mention the other names like Cortez, Tenorio, and MC 47, since these guys are consistent with their games. You cannot ask for more to these players..everyone knows that..

One last name that I would like to see improvement is actually not a player of this team, but plays a very crucial role to the team's fate in every conference -- Siot Tanquincen, the Gin Kings coach. He needs to elevate his coaching tactics and must rotate his players effectively. While there are so many incidents that make me frustrated with Siot, personally I think, he can get the job done, only if he will learn to trust his players more and get them involved in the game. Am I right here or what?

What Is The Latest In Gin Kings?

After the monster trade that sent Tenorio to Ginebra, PBA fans are now asking what is next to this team? Exactly 24 days to go before the opening tip, can we expect for more changes in the team's roster?

Here are the latest developments inside the PBA that are related with the undisputed most popular PBA team:

Asi has signed to a 3-years contract in the ABL. After the rumor spreading like a wildfire that the Rock is also heading to the Ginebra, his agent has announced on her Twitter account that Asi will bring his talents instead to ABL. Some fans say Asi is the missing link in the team...but for me, I just don't think so...

Eric Menk has signed anew in the team as a reserve list just like what the team did to Johnny Abarientos. Is this a sign that one day, the major pain will also be a part of the ginkings coaching staff? According to Menk, he is not yet ready to hang his jersey, but this thing is quite inevitable.

MC47 is still in the US, vacationing and seeking for experts opinion regarding his eye socket injury, whether he need to undergo surgical operation or not. He will be back at the 3rd week of September..and prove that his MVP award is not a fluke or cause by accident. For me, he is indeed the real MVP!! No doubt about it..

The team has signed their two rookies,  get Elmer Espiritu via trade plus a first rounder pick for 2013 by Air 21. This one can help them land Greg Slaughter or other great rookies come2013 draft day.

Mark Andaya is currently trying out for the team, but as of now, there is no news whether he make it to the team's roster. But I have a strong feeling that he will be signed by the Gin Kings since the team needs a center and big body in the middle. Extra rice of ROS, prepare for the team's big Mac!!

One more news for Ginebra...

Siot Tanquincen is still the coach and will be in-charged in calling the shots for the team's quest to  capture the championship. I just do not know if  you will take this as a good news or not, but for me..Siot need to change his coaching style to complement his team "real talent"..

That is it for now....keep posted on my blogspot for more updates to your favorite team...the one and only NSD Gin kings..

Oops, someone asked me about the status of this team....Here is my answer...With MC47 flashing his MVP form, JJ13 proving that he still got game, The 'tenyente' making clutch plays and the 'kid' resurgent plays, plus the never say die of each player in this team....Gin kings will be a tough customer for the other teams.

Is There Another Trade On The Horizon?

Asi heading to the Gin Kings?

Is Asi the right man for the job?
According to Ms. Reyes, agent of Taulava and Menk, she has a surprising announcement to make in the coming days. There are also some tweets hinting that Asi is heading to the Gin Kings. Although this is just a rumor, there is a saying "When there is smoke, there is a fire!"

While the team really needs a center who will man the shaded area, do you think Asi fits the job? Asi is already 39 and is not fit to the rebuilding mode of the team. Besides, who will be the one that will be traded just in case this rumor is true...Rico Maheijofer, Maliksi or one of our future picks?

After LA, Is Asi next?
Yes, despite his age, Asi is still a force to reckon in the middle. In fact, he has upped his performance last season, which convinced the Meralco management to offer him another contract, which according to some reports are 2 years contract.

ginebra, just like Lakers?
Although the team badly needs a center after EVill has left, do you think Asi is the man for the job?

Is there no more other options available??

Well, your guess is as good as mine!!
