5 games losing skid....I said to myself, kahit pa ilang talo yan, Ginebra pa rin ako. Through thick and thin, di ko iiwanan ang team ko. Ginebra die hard ako e...
Kaya lang, di naman ibig sabihin noon ay di na ako nasasaktan every time my team would lose a game. It hurts me to see my favorite team losing one game after the another and worse, tambak pa sila. Kung baga sa boxing, throw the white towel na at bugbog na e. Masakit makita na nakayuko ang mga players after each game, since I know, kung masama ang loob ng fans, mas lalo na sila.
.Alam ko yan kasi Ginebra die hard fan ako e.
5 games losing skid..next game against the Global Port, the same team na tinalo nila nuong opening game. What if sila na ang tambakan ng kalaban? Paanu kung wala pa rin sila defense na maipakita? Panu kung laglag pa rin sila after this game?
Change of head coach, trades or kahit anu pa yan..I believe that time will come and Ginebra will relive once more their never say die mantra..KAYA TABI na muna yun mga pretender na NSD team jan ha...Ginebra lng ang may right na bansagan na original Never Say Die team..
Go Ginebra...Relive once more the True spirit of NSD!!!

Ginebra Can Make It!! -- Confession Of A Die Hard Fan
Yes, Ginebra has suffered its 4 setbacks in 6 games after an impressive 2-0 start. Yes, it is also true that the team is not playing good basketball and last game against Alaska, "Masakit talaga sa mata panoorin ang pagkatalo nila.
Out rebounded, out hustled outscored, outrun, Low FG percentages and lots of TOs, too many isolation plays. These are the recipes of a sure lose and disaster.
It cannot be denied that the team is lacking in chemistry as shown by their turn overs. Even the point guard LA is committing his mistakes. MC 47 is not shooting well especially in the 3 point arc but we can see that he does not stop from trying to score. He has the heart and there is no question about it.
Mike Cortez and JJ13 playing time has suffered a lot and somehow, their confidence also suffered too. Even the HBomb which is the energizer of the team is not getting enough playing time. Too old? Maybe, but maybe not...
The team does not have a dominant big man, only Mamaril is the legit center..Just like what I have said in my past blogs, Kerby is not a natural center and he is not comfortable playing that position.
Yes, Ginebra is suffering a 4 game losing skid and for their millions fans, this is really alarming.
Make the trades, change the head coach or even the entire coaching staff..etc etc..
But do you really think these are the solutions to end the team woes?
I am a die hard Ginebra fan ever since I have fallen in love with the sports of basketball.
Yes, the team is not playing good today, but I believe, Ginebra can still make it. I dont give a damn even the other fans are making fun of my team, say what they want to say, but I will still stand and stick with Ginebra coz I know, at the end of the day, Ginebra will prevail. I really believe that Ginebra will win the All Filipino Cup Championship. Laugh till you want, "KAHIT PA SUMAKIT NA TIYAN MO" but this is my opinion and my blog..so you just have to respect it. If you want, make your own blog.
This is the best time to show our support to our wounded team. guys...2-4...the elimination is still long and all the team needs is one win to get back on the track..Keep the faith Ginebra Fans..Good things are about to happen with our fav team..MARK MY WORDS...Ginebra will bounce back!!

Bounce Back Ginebra!!
Bounce Back Ginebra!!
This is the battle cry of millions of the Ginebra fans after witnessing the 3 games losing skid of the team. Of course, the team must get back on the winning mode if they still want to be treated as a title contender. After a 2 -0 start, wins from Global Port and RoS, the team lost its last 3 outings versus Meralco, Red Bull and to Petron.
Is there something wrong in this team?
Yes, one of these is the chemistry of their new players to the old ones. LA is new, so are the two rookies . It cannot be avoided that there will be mistakes along the way, lots of TOs that kill the chances to win a game. The team is now executing a run-and gun system, but somehow, the team is losing gas or their opponents are able to neutralize their system.
Why?
The team does not have a legit center. Big Mama can play the 5 position, but he is not a dominant force inside the paint. Kerby is not a natural center and it shows that he is not comfortable playing this position. The team needs a center but of course, this will be done through trades which means, there will be players who will left the team after Villanueva, Wilson, and KG. Besides, trading will also affect their chemistry since new player means another adjustment.
Ginebra is loaded of great players...MC47, JJ13, LA, Kerby, Ababou, PRM,,Maliksi, Cortez, Hatfield..all of these players can score and hustle inside the court. Their two rookies are full of hustle and intensity plus they too, can also score. The bench of the Ginebra is also regarded as one of the deepest in the PBA, 'kahit sino ipasuk mo, me potential na gumawa.'
Then, bakit 3 games losing skid na?
There are many reasons behind the losing skid of this team, if you will ask the fans, for sure, each of them has their respective input, comments and suggestions. But for some reasons, these things do not matter unless the team play as one unit. They need to play good defense until the final buzzer. Share the ball and less one on one plays. Pass the ball to your guard and let him do his stuffs, and last, the coaching staff must utilize each player potential by giving him enough time and confidence.
I am not a coach and I have no plans to be one, but just like any ordinary fans out there, I am concern with my fave team. Call me bias but I do not care, all I want is that Ginebra bounce back and prove all their detractors wrong..

GInebra 2.0 -- Title Contender Or Not?
the new three kings!!! |
Pero teka, di ba masyado pang maaga para magcelebrate ang mga taga barangay? 2-0 pa lng and this tournament is comprised of 14 games. And besides, di pa nakakalaban ng Ginebra ang mga power house teams such as TnT, San Mig Coffee Mixers, and Petron. For sure, the fans of the other teams will not like the idea of my blog saying that Ginebra will win this cup with its 2-0 record.
However, let me just remind that I have basis in saying that the most favorite team in the PBA will win the championship. First, this team is comprised of great and savvy veterans that are mixed with energetic, full of vibrant and athleticism of youth. Run and gun plus solid defense are their forte and is very obvious that is clicking for them.
run and gun for the championship! |
Can you see the stellar plays of LA? How about the consistent MVP form of MC47? Pansinin nyo rin si Rico M at Maliksi, can't you see that they are bringing their games a notch higher? Andyan pa rin sina JJ13, Cool cat, the HBomb, Raymundo, Wilson, Mamaril who are still dependable when it comes to scoring. Of course, wala pa si Ababou who is recovering from his injury.
The rookies? I already gave them high and passing grade for their intensity and athleticism. Besides scoring, these rookies can also defend. Complete package ika nga ng iba!
all in one for the common goal |
Ginebra 2-0...while it is too early to make any prediction, by basing on the two games alone, Ginebra is a .legitimate title contender that each team should fear!!

The Gem In Chris Ellis
Now it can be told..Ginebra management did the right thing when they opted to choose Ellis over Chris Tiu. Ellis can score, elevate and leave fans in awe, can defend and block shots, and most importantly, he brings lots of intensity in the game, offensively and defensively. While Tiu is also a great player, I don't think that he is as athletic as the rookie of Ginebra.
After their win against the Global Port, expect more from this rookie. For sure, fans would like to see every time he elevates and soar for a dunk or swat the shots of the opposing team. Simply put, this rookie has a lot of talent and is next in line to the throne of the reigning MVP, MC47.
So, if you are one of those who are pissed when the Ginebra choose Ellis over Tiu, you better think again and see if there is reason for you to be pissed of.
My fearless prediction, Ellis will win the ROY and not Fajardo.. I don't care whether you agree or disagree with me, after all, I am just expressing my opinion here.
For Ginebra fans, expect more good things to come for your favorite team. Championship? Why not? With MC 47, JJ13, LA and the rest of the gang, conquering the All Filipino Cup is very much feasible.

Players Who Need To Step Up For The Gin Kings
Who do you think the Gin Kings players that need to elevate their games to help the team capture the elusive championship? While the team is loaded of great players who can really play basketball, it is unfortunate that their talents are not exploited in the last conferences. What do you think the problem? Is it because of the players' lack of desire and motivation? Or is it because of the coaching staff?(again!)
For me, I have some names that must step up this coming PBA season, so they can finally achieve that elusive championship.
Here are the players that for me are capable of helping the team capture its first championship after their last one, which happened on the year of 2008. God, its been 4 years that we last saw our players celebrating at the center of the court. Will it happen this year? Can the Gin Kings also make a run and make their own dynasty. How about a grand slam of their own?
Ok, let us get started...The players that must elevate their game in my own humble opinion are:
Allein Maliksi -- this player has the offensive skills that can make the opponents play honest defense. Look, this guy can shoot the 3, bring the ball closer to the rim and run the fast break.
Dylan Ababou -- remember when he made those 40+ points last PBA all star, this only show the offensive prowess of this player.
Kerby Raymundo -- we all know what the kid can do, he just need to be given the enough time to get back in his old form.
Rudy Hatfield -- although already past of his prime, the H-bomb is still capable of getting the rebounds and stop opponents to score. He can also move without the ball and produce points for the team.
Rico Maierhofer -- next to the H-bomb, this guy has the energy and hustle that every coach would like to have. He can score and run the fast breaks effectively. Remember, PRM is a rookie of the year awardee on his first year in Purefoods.
JJ Helterbrand -- the former MVP and the other half of the fast and the furious must get back on his killing form to resurrect the tandem of the deadliest back court of the PBA. MC47 will be happy to have his buddy elevate his game once more, since this will mean championship. JJ13, before you hang your jersey, show them you still got game. Will you?
There you are, my list of players who need to step up and bring their A1 game each night to give their team a solid chance to be crowned champions again. I did not mention the other names like Cortez, Tenorio, and MC 47, since these guys are consistent with their games. You cannot ask for more to these players..everyone knows that..
One last name that I would like to see improvement is actually not a player of this team, but plays a very crucial role to the team's fate in every conference -- Siot Tanquincen, the Gin Kings coach. He needs to elevate his coaching tactics and must rotate his players effectively. While there are so many incidents that make me frustrated with Siot, personally I think, he can get the job done, only if he will learn to trust his players more and get them involved in the game. Am I right here or what?

What Is The Latest In Gin Kings?
After the monster trade that sent Tenorio to Ginebra, PBA fans are now asking what is next to this team? Exactly 24 days to go before the opening tip, can we expect for more changes in the team's roster?
Here are the latest developments inside the PBA that are related with the undisputed most popular PBA team:
Asi has signed to a 3-years contract in the ABL. After the rumor spreading like a wildfire that the Rock is also heading to the Ginebra, his agent has announced on her Twitter account that Asi will bring his talents instead to ABL. Some fans say Asi is the missing link in the team...but for me, I just don't think so...
Eric Menk has signed anew in the team as a reserve list just like what the team did to Johnny Abarientos. Is this a sign that one day, the major pain will also be a part of the ginkings coaching staff? According to Menk, he is not yet ready to hang his jersey, but this thing is quite inevitable.
MC47 is still in the US, vacationing and seeking for experts opinion regarding his eye socket injury, whether he need to undergo surgical operation or not. He will be back at the 3rd week of September..and prove that his MVP award is not a fluke or cause by accident. For me, he is indeed the real MVP!! No doubt about it..
The team has signed their two rookies, get Elmer Espiritu via trade plus a first rounder pick for 2013 by Air 21. This one can help them land Greg Slaughter or other great rookies come2013 draft day.
Mark Andaya is currently trying out for the team, but as of now, there is no news whether he make it to the team's roster. But I have a strong feeling that he will be signed by the Gin Kings since the team needs a center and big body in the middle. Extra rice of ROS, prepare for the team's big Mac!!
One more news for Ginebra...
Siot Tanquincen is still the coach and will be in-charged in calling the shots for the team's quest to capture the championship. I just do not know if you will take this as a good news or not, but for me..Siot need to change his coaching style to complement his team "real talent"..
That is it for now....keep posted on my blogspot for more updates to your favorite team...the one and only NSD Gin kings..
Oops, someone asked me about the status of this team....Here is my answer...With MC47 flashing his MVP form, JJ13 proving that he still got game, The 'tenyente' making clutch plays and the 'kid' resurgent plays, plus the never say die of each player in this team....Gin kings will be a tough customer for the other teams.

Is There Another Trade On The Horizon?
Asi heading to the Gin Kings?
According to Ms. Reyes, agent of Taulava and Menk, she has a surprising announcement to make in the coming days. There are also some tweets hinting that Asi is heading to the Gin Kings. Although this is just a rumor, there is a saying "When there is smoke, there is a fire!"
While the team really needs a center who will man the shaded area, do you think Asi fits the job? Asi is already 39 and is not fit to the rebuilding mode of the team. Besides, who will be the one that will be traded just in case this rumor is true...Rico Maheijofer, Maliksi or one of our future picks?
Yes, despite his age, Asi is still a force to reckon in the middle. In fact, he has upped his performance last season, which convinced the Meralco management to offer him another contract, which according to some reports are 2 years contract.
Although the team badly needs a center after EVill has left, do you think Asi is the man for the job?
Is there no more other options available??
Well, your guess is as good as mine!!

Is Coach Siot The Right Man For The Job?
when is the last time SIOT's victory ride? |
As you see, there are lots of questions that until now are bothering the minds of the Ginebra fans. In fact, even the fans of the other teams are interested in the crowd darling team, since they are aware of the strength of the Gin Kings this coming season.
Oh, by the way, one more question that most fans will surely want to know the answer, "Is coach Siot capable of giving the millions of fans of championship after 4 eternity years? Without a doubt, this is one question that every fan has something to say. By basing in the comments and opinions in Facebook, twitter and Ginebra fan pages, you will see the clamor of the fans who want Siot to be replaced.
Can SIOT brings the team in the promise land? |
Siot has given the team two back-to-back championships. It is also under his tutelage that JJ13 has blossomed, since he use it often over Bal David. However, this is also when the back court of the fast and the furious are unstoppable, plus the dominant play of the major pain 'Eric Menk.
Today, JJ13 and MC 47 are still in the team, and so is Siot. After their last championship in 2008, the team has not yet tasted another championship. Is this enough to demand Siot to be replaced?
Yes, in fact there are many reasons that made the fans frustrated with Siot...
Is that smile a sign that SIOT job is secured? |
--Players rotation
--last and crucial minutes designed plays
--not using other players
--do not possess the never say die attitude
--poor decision making especially during crunch time
--etc etc etc
As you can see, there is really the clamor to make coach changes..but only to the millions of fans of the Gin Kings. The SMC management is not giving any hint whether Siot will be replaced or not. Maybe, they will still give him the chance to make things happen this season or maybe, there are no one capable to call the shots for the Gin Kings? Al Chua? This one is feasible, but something tells me that it is a long shot..
So to the Ginebra fans, maybe we should also give Siot a chance to prove us wrong...Maybe, we are being to harsh with him....Don't you think so?

Is The 'Tenyente' Coming To Kings Or Not?
where are you going tenyente? |
However, the question is not only whether the Teniente will land in Ginebra or not, there are others that must be answered. "Do the team really need LA? "Will LA fits the Ginkings style of play?" Who will say goodbye to the team? Is it the cool cat Cortez and the Raging Bull E.Villanueva? What will be the impact of these changes? Will the SMC management allow LA to play for the national team?
Will LA brand of play suits the Ginkings? |
So many questions that are until now are hanging up in the air. We just hope that this one will be decided within 24 hours so everyone could stop from speculating. For Ginebra fans, every change that involves their team is something that they will scrutinize and spend their time discussing online. This is how devoted and attached the legions of Gin Kings fans to their team.
LA Tenorio, whether you will be a Gin Kings this 38th PBA season or not, life on hard court will still continue for the team. Although I, as a fan of Ginebra would like to have LA in the team all I can do is to wait for the final announcement until this trade to become 'official.'
